Rabbit Release - February 15, 2011

TMWR In Action

Here are some pics of Shelby the Injured Cottontail's release. She was released at Lake Whitney by a wonderful man I met last season. He brought me an injured Cottontail that had been injured. He has released a few rabbits at his Lake Whitney property that came from his property in Southlake.

She seemed a little hesitant to leave the cage at first then she slowly poked her head out, took a couple of hops then stopped, looked back at the cage as if wondering if she should get back in it. Once she really took off, she was jumping and moving at a fast pace. She really seemed to appreciate all you did for her and her new lease on life. We released her where we released Bunny Bunyan 21 April 2010.

It is hard to let them go but they deserve their freedom. I would not want to live in a cage and neither do they. I am sure she is happy and will be happier each day, especially after she meets Bunny Bunyan.
